Each piece carries its own unique story, coming together to create an ambiance that's both culturally rich and visually stunning The food was full of delicious flavours! Highlights included the perfectly spiced prawn moilee and the chicken tikka. The cheesecake was the perfect way to end the meal I would highly recommend visiting for special occasions or date night! ”

“ Every time I visit Colonel Saab, I am impressed by their ambience and decor, by their reception and service, and above all, by their food and flavours. During my visit in January, we ordered Aloo Tikki Chaat, Chili Mogo, Baby Aloo and Murgh e Malai for starters (all were tasty but I would strongly recommend the Murgh e Malai). For the mains we ordered Lucknowi Lamb Biryani and Chole Kulche (both excellent and full of appropriate, authentic flavours). The one thing that always disappoints me about this place (and I always make the mistake of ordering it) is their Spiced Chai. It's way too weak to be part of an authentic menu, and is prepared with a mix and boiled water, which is simply not the way it would be done in India. I really wish they'd either only offer proper masala chai, or proper strong brewed tea, but this is neither. The service is perfectly polite and attentive and they were all very nice (we had interactions with a few different people, but unfortunately, I only have the name of one: Aakash). I will continue to return to Colonel Saab for proper Indian food, with a high-end touch. ”

“ One of the best Indian restaurants I have been to recently and now one of my favourites. All the dishes we tried were beautifully spiced. There was definitely the right amount for heat across all the food. We ordered a second portion of the lamb chops as they were very tasty. They were a little pricey but worth it! 30 for 3. I cannot fault anything about the food or service. The ground floor of the restaurant is quite small so we did find it a little tight and also found we could hear other people's conversations and they ours. Overall, a fabulous restaurant, fabulous decor and fabulous food ”

“ This was my second visit to Colonel Saab, but my first time at the Holborn location—and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely incredible. The Murgh-E-Malai was the highlight of the evening—so tender, creamy, and full of flavour. It’s easily one of the best dishes I’ve had and an absolute must-try. Special thanks to Rony for his warmth and for making my birthday feel extra special. Amazing food, lovely service—I’ll definitely be back soon! ”

The desserts without a doubt the Rasmalail milkcake and the very cool panacotta were fantastic. Then there were the devine grilled prawns, faultless dahl lentils, the mango lassis, and rich chicken curries. There are no shortcuts here. You certainly get what you pay for. Add the prompt and professional service, classy decor, and a 5 star hotel smell to its bathroom, Colonel Saab should be in the conversation when it comes to the top five Indian restaurants in London. ”

The food was delicious and each dish I had was unique in its way. I had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The decor is a marvel itself. You could spend an entire evening admiring it. The staff were very lovely and attentive. Cannot recommend this place enough. ”
